The Michigan City, Indiana, East Pier lighthouse has one of the longest and best-preserved catwalks on the Great Lakes. This is a testament to the local community, since in the late 1980s it was near derelict and slated for demolition. I took this photo on a crisp fall day, and it was clear from the steady foot traffic that this is now a much-loved landmark.
