I arrived at Point Betsie, Michigan, before dawn and hiked up the open dune to the north--a vantage point that emphasizes the isolated location of this lighthouse. The wind was blowing and the skies threatened an oncoming storm. As the light of dawn slowly filtered into the sky it cast a rich blue hue on the scene.
