Artist's Statement

I’ve always felt a deep connection to the beauty of the Great Lakes region. Beaches and dunes, lighthouses and breakwaters, farms and orchards, forests and streams, small towns and big cities, the gentle touch of nature and heavy hand of industry—all provide an endless source of inspiration.

Though my subjects are diverse, my approach is constant. I'm usually drawn to a subject on a subconscious level and need to work to reveal the essence that intrigued me. This process is equal parts exploration and meditation. My compositions are usually simple, often almost abstract. A successful photograph feels like a gift, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share them with you.
